Required jobs in Sulzer company and their details:

1. Tendering engineer

Preparation of tenders and provision of front-end sales support in respect of client enquiries in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.To take overall control of service tendering activities in line with the company's business plans and strategies for growth of the business.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Receive enquiry from sales, operations, management, or customers as arising and acknowledge receipt of the enquiry.
  • Review commercial terms & work scope, and liaise with all internal stakeholders to ensure bid submission deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with sales team to prepare technical and commercial proposals.
  • Liaise with operations teams to determine repair and overhaul timescales, parts and repair requirements. 
  • Co-ordinate with vendors to obtain 3rd party materials and subcontract quotations.
  • Produce costing sheet for review with operations, finance and sales teams.
  • Prepare quotations for additional work identified during order execution. 
  • Overall responsibility to ensure that tenders meet company commercial guidelines and have the necessary sign off in accordance with the delegation of authority guidelines.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure that Order Entry documentation is completed in accordance with handover guidelines and procedures and company KPIs.
  • Ensure application of Sulzer tools and policies, procedures, codes of conduct and best practice guideline.
  • Attend clarification meetings, pre-tender site visits with Client when required.
  • Take responsibility for all associated handover documentation in the event of an order.
  • Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement.
  • Contribute towards preparation of weekly/monthly reports to communicate local business performance against targets.
  • Contribute to the tender follow up process.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering;
  • Relevant experience within Pump/Rotating Equipment industry;
  • Good understanding of pump machinery, assembly and manufacturing processes;
  • Experience of dealing with rotating equipment repair and overhaul tenders;
  • Experience of contract negotiation in a commercial environment;
  • General computer skills;
  • SAP familiarity; 
  • Communication & negotiating skills;
  • Ability to act independently;
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.

2. Electro Mechanical Supervisor

Provide overhaul, repair, overhaul installation and commissioning services for motors, generators and ancillary equipment within Qatar.

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Plan and organise required work with support from line manager and operations team.
  • Identify the optimum approach to work execution and be fully capable to deliver hands-on technical awareness and demonstrate skills in trouble shooting for more complex activities where necessary.
  • Communicating job progress updates internally and to clients effectively. 
  • Develop and maintain good internal and external communications and effective relationships with clients to optimise further service opportunities.
  • Liaise with technical departments within Sulzer to develop engineering solutions.
  • Support the operations manager with customer technical clarifications in respect of any issues relating to agreed scopes of work.
  • Be fully capable to demonstrate machine inspection and fault finding.
  • Machine strip down with rotor removal and stator core removal.
  • Coil burn out and stator repairs / core rebuilds.
  • Winding of new coils into the stator, wedging and connecting.
  • Core insertion, Rotor threading.
  • Machine rebuilds and final inspections 
  • Bearing inspection and measurements.
  • Be able to carry out T&C checks, measuring shaft dimensions and creating basic drawings for required work.
  • Onsite service / repair work and commissioning.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to winding machines, test panels, core loss testers, cut off saws, lathes, milling machines, burnout brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems and various handheld power and non-power tools.
  • Collaborate with relevant suppliers and subcontractors.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship with valid certification.
  • Min. 10 years’ experience of HV & LV rotating electrical equipment (motors & generators).
  • General repair of electrical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Quality control, EHS / Risk assessments and method statements, COSHH control.
  • Fault finding including RCA.
  • General computer skills (MS office).
  • Experience working on customer sites.
