About Us
we believe each student in our school is a success story which shall be told. GIS was established in 2015; since then, we have changed and grown significantly in the West bay lagoon behind the MOE&HE new building. From very small beginnings almost eight years ago, GIS has grown into one of the most well-known and most prestigious schools in Qatar, with around 300 students on role. In 2019, the school received an excellent grade from the Qatar National Schools Accreditation programme, when inspected by the country’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
While in 2016, GIS achieved Cambridge International accreditation and the school is following Oxford International Curriculum.

1. English Teacher
Required Specifications:
- Educated to a Bachelor’s Degree level in Education or related field.
- At least 3 years experience teaching in British Curriculum schools (EYFS or Primary level).
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal skills.
- For applicants for EYFS, certification in Jolly Phonics is preferred.
- English speaker
- PSGE is an advantage
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- To teach the class assigned by the school principal. Work within all school policies and guidelines.
- Plan, prepare and deliver effective lessons in line with the school curricular aims.
- Provide suitable academic challenges that will allow each pupil to reach his or her potential.
- Self-evaluate and review teaching methods, materials and schemes of work and make changes as appropriate.
- Commit to in-service training (INSET) and continuing professional development (CPD).
- Maintain a well-managed classroom with a good work ethos.
- Assess students’ work effectively in a timely fashion and provide appropriate comments.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the areas of the curriculum you teach.
- Maintain records and write reports on pupils’ progress and development
- Discuss progress with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Provide cover for absent colleagues if necessary.
- Attend year meetings, staff meetings, parents’ evenings and whole school events.

2. Teacher Assistant
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Providing support to children with mathematics, reading and writing on an individual, class or small group basis.
- Giving extra help to children with special needs or those for whom English is not their first language.
- Helping develop appropriate activities and/or resources to support children’s learning
- Promoting inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom.
- Encouraging students to interact and work cooperatively with other.
- Assisting with marking and correcting work.
- Attending meetings and reviews.
- Helping with school events, trips and activities.
- Observing, recording and supporting the development progress of pupils to identify individual needs and difficulties in relation to their progress and achievement.
- Supervising the class occasionally in case of short term absences of teachers, focusing on maintaining good order and to keep students on task under the guidance of teaching staff and within agreed system of supervision.
- Supporting class teachers in photocopying and other tasks to support teaching.
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons.
- Responsible for student conduct, supporting teachers in managing class behavior.
- Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories.
- Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records.
- Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons.
- Carrying out administrative tasks asked by teacher.
